I am pretty sure I didn't like this movie. On the other hand, I am certain that I thought Viola Davis was great as Mrs. Miller. - A

I enjoyed PSH, didn't enjoy Streep. Sure, she was playing an unlikable character, but I think I liked her less than I was supposed to. Overall, blah. - T

I like Amy Adams in just about anything. Same with Philip Seymour Hoffman, but for different reasons. Streep is impressive at playing characters you're not supposed to like. I am starting to appreciate her work more and more. I wasn't crazy about this movie. Found it to be rather uninteresting overall, and not especially visually appealing, except for Adams.

As a 12-year catholic school veteran (and former alter boy) it was like a great big dysfunctional, uncomfortable reunion with all of the scary relatives. It was a great movie! The juxtaposition of the nun and priest dinner tables was priceless. And PSH with the finger nails...spot on. Ahhhh good times, good times.
